Relaxation oscillations in the drill string – drive system, caused both by the drill string and its drive characteristics lead to forced oscillations of the drive power of the engine. This fact determines the negative results of the drilling process such as: 1. The sharp decline of the drilling rig efficiency. 2. Premature mechanical wear of the drive. 3. Overload mode of the motor operation. 4. Emergency situations. There exists a variety of methods and tools of the relaxation oscillation compensation of the drill string, aimed at the improving of the work of either the drill pipe string, or the drive. However, the proposed methods and tools fail to solve the problem of compensation in the whole, i.e., the whole complex of the problems of compensation of relaxation oscillations of the forced oscillations of the engine drive power. The paper proposes a method of antiphase compensation (method of Yagubov – Perminov, patent RU 2569656 C1, date of priority 16.05.2014. Published: 27.11.2015. Bulletin No. 33), which allows not only to compensate for the relaxation oscillations in the "drill string – drive" system due to the forced oscillation of the engine drive power, but also to increase engine output, thus essentially increasing the drilling rig efficiency.
Keywords: relaxation oscillations; "drill pipe string – drive" system; critical axial load; bending deformation of the drill pipe string; power fluctuations.

Unequal distribution of the particles in a well hasn’t been accounted for in the earlier works concerning precipitation of particles in suspensions. It has been shown that particles of solid bodies being in the suspend state in a well are in the gravitation field of the Earth and they obey to Boltzmann distribution. Concentration of these particles is maximum at a well bottom and reduces with the increase of height. A hydrodynamic model of particles precipitation in a suspension has been developed with account of Boltzmann distribution of these particles in a well. It is noted that viscosity of suspension in the gravitation field of the Earth should be determined by Einstein formula considering Boltzmann distribution of particles in a suspension.
Keywords: well; oil; solid particles; sand plug; gravitation field of the Earth; hydrodynamic model; viscosity of a suspension.

When drilling oil and gas wells, after a certain period of time, rock particles continuously fall from clay layers into the wellbore causing complications in the well. It has been identified that while high concentrated cations accumulated in the water existing in the pores of the clay layers diffuse into the drilling mud in the well and create osmotic pressure behind clay rock layers which are practically impermeable and, tearing off rock particles from a layer, throws them into the wellbore. After adding a layer’s ions to the drilling mud, the concentration of the drilling mud’s ions and layer’s ions is equalized, thus preventing the occurrence of osmotic pressure and fully eliminating rock particles falling out from clay layers into a wellbore.
Keywords: osmotic pressure; diffusion; kinetic energy; complication; concentration.

Experience of carrying out geophysical surveys demonstrates lack of reliable and accurate methods of cementation quality assessment resulting in the lack of the indicator that determines the probability of inter-layer and inter-column interflows and manifestations in the field practice. The paper suggests solving the problem by quantitative dependences establishment between physical-mechanical parameters of the cement stone. Based on the conducted researches, physical-mechanical properties of the cement stone are assessed and functional interrelations between them are determined which allow, within the received changes of arguments, to define and predict the current values of the stone parameters in the annulus. Finally, it will allow to assess not only the quality of the cemented annulus space, but also the current state of the created grouting stone that will stimulate the timely carrying out repair of the well and prevent occurrence of emergency situations.
Keywords: quality of cementation; physic-mechanical properties of a cement stone; porosity; permeability; durability; speeds of passing of waves; resistance.

Fluid loss reducing agents are used to control the filtration rate of cement slurries. The present paper assesses the effect of various types of acrylamide filtrate yield reducers on the properties of non-lighted cement slurries when using expanded additives. The results of a qualitative method for assessing the effectiveness of the use of fluid-loss control agents in cement slurries are given. The necessity of assessing the chemical compatibility of components in a dry mixture is shown.
Keywords: fluid-loss control agent; polyacrylamide; acrylamide monomer; cement slurry; well cementing; laboratory tests.

The paper describes the basic properties of slurry mortars based on Portland cement for low and normal temperatures, and sulfate-resistant Portland cement for high temperatures with the addition of "Silverbond" quartz flour with an average particle size of 6 and 34 microns produced by LLC "Sibelco Rus". Special attention is paid to the study of the effect of Portland cement partial replacement by a fine-milled filler on the physical-mechanical and rheological parameters of slurry materials. It is noted that the quartz flour introduction has a positive effect on the rheological characteristics of slurry materials, as well as provides the stability of the required physical-mechanical and technological characteristics. The experiments conducted by the authors of the paper proved the fact that formulations with partial replacement of well-cement with quartz flour in the amount of 20 to 40 % are the most optimal physical-mechanical and rheological properties to be applied. The researches have also shown that the use of "Silverbond" quartz flour allows to achieve higher values of bending strength, both at temperatures of +20 °C and that of +100 °C, to reduce the tendency to cracks formation and to improve the rate of water separation of the finished slurry product.
Keywords: cement slurry; quartz flour.

The paper presents the results of the researches carried out in the framework of the development of a technique for monitoring mechanical defects in centrifugal pumping units using an electro-parametric method of technical diagnostics. According to the results of the experimental study, the values of the diagnostic parameter, corresponding to different levels of a rolling bearing defect in a cantilever centrifugal pumping unit, were determined. Using simulation modeling, the functions of the diagnostic parameter dependence on the mechanical failure indicator were obtained, allowing to estimate the parameter deviation in case of changes the unit operational characteristics.
Keywords: diagnostic parameter; electro-parametric control method; rolling bearing defects; mechanical failure; centrifugal pumping unit; current spectrum analysis.
