The article presents the results of the researches carried out to develop the design of poly-crystalline diamond cutter (PDC) bits of small diameter, intended for drilling of additional sidetracks of horizontal wells. Recommendations on the development of fundamentally new bits with self-screwing effect, that compensates the lack of the axial load from the weight of a reduced-diameter drill string, caused by the dimensions of the casing string inner diameter, are submitted. This weight, as a rule, is insufficient to destroy the rock at the well bottom and to intensify the work of the PDC bit.
Keywords: horizontal lateral well bores; holes-windows in the casing string; sidetrack entrance; rock-destroying diamond cutters (RDC); drill pipes; drilled horizons; drill bit body; vibration during drilling; effect of the bit self-drilling.

The main type of the equipment used to produce oil in the fields of the Western Siberia are the units of electric submersible pumps (ESP), which are operated in complicated conditions. The article presents an analysis of this equipment failure due to the "breakage of the shaft" at one of the fields in the Western Siberia. The analysis of failures showed that the shafts failures occur in various ESP assemblies, it was found out that 44 % of the failures are of a plastic nature and 56 % of the failures are associated with the shafts fatigue failures. Plastic breakage occurs during "seizures" while running or attempts to "shim" the pump, which are accompanied by a significant load increase on the shaft. Shafts fatigue failures occur without loads increase in places of stresses significant concentrations. Analysis of the shafts breaks showed that the majority of fatigue failures (84 %) occur along the splines of the coupling joint. The paper presents the data on ESPs premature failure associated with the shaft fatigue breakage. The data analysis showed that the average operating time due to the shaft fatigue failure makes 74 days, herewith, more than half of ESPs (53 %) worked no more than 40 days. The distribution of failures due to the reasons that caused the fatigue breakdown of the ESP shaft is presented. The high content of abrasive particles in the borehole products results in accelerated vibro-abrasive wear-out of the radial mating of the working organs, which results in vibrational loads and fatigue breakage of the shaft. The high free gas content contributes to the wear-out of the working parts in the presence of mechanical impurities as well as to the operation of the ESP units outside the pump operational characteristic. Analysis of well logs showed that the intervals of the sections for the equipment location without a transverse bending are very limited, thus subsequently bringing the shaft fatigue failure. The shaft fatigue failure can be caused by the variable loads from the torsional moment, what is observed in case of fluctuations of the output frequency of the supply voltage at the frequency control stations. Frequency fluctuations of the supply voltage can be caused by various causes, in particular – the connection of powerful electric drives of the drilling rig to the supply network of wells with ESPs.

DETERMINATION OF VENTURI NOZZLES DIMENTIONS OF PULSATION BOTTLES
Leonid Markovich Milshtein
e-mail: mleonmark@gmail.com
The determination of all Venturi nozzles dimensions (VN) of pulsation bottles, being an important problem of oil and gas technology is considered. A method of Venturi nozzles calculation for all input oil and gas separators is developed. The main dimension of Venturi nozzles is the critical section diameter, which is selected by the flow rate of liquid and gas, intermediate between the minimum and the maximum ones: for oil and gas separators, the minimum diameter of VN critical section is determined by the liquid flow rate according to the technical specification (TS), the maximum diameter – by the liquid flow rate through pipe branches or pipelines of separators discharge lines with the speed of 4 m/s; the minimum and maximum diameters of oil and gas separators with water discharge are determined by liquid flow rates of the fluid according to TS, herewith, the gas rate in the critical section should be no more than 320 m/s.

A significant share of failures and the time spent on the repair work is accounted for drilling pumps. The working capacity of piston pumps is mainly determined by the details of their hydraulic part. Use of abrasive and aggressive working media at high pressure reduces the technical resource of pumps hydraulic parts. Valves are one of the important elements of pumps hydraulic part. Their work largely determines the degree of a pump construction perfection: the suction height, the magnitude of the volumetric efficiency and the feed rate, the dynamics of the pump unit operation. Therefore, the solution of the problems aimed at increasing the operational durability of parts of the pump hydraulic part, and, in particular, valves, is still very relevant today. Goals and objectives 1. Analysis of operating conditions of drilling piston pumps and the reasons for their failure. 2. Evaluation of the efficiency of piston pumps’ valves constructions and analysis of their wear out. The results of the analysis of the works carried out to improve the drilling pumps valves make it possible to conclude that the state of valves’ supporting metal surfaces can be influenced by construction parameters. When studying the operational conditions characteristics and analyzing the process of drilling pumps valves wear-out, it should be noted that wear out is detected at the following areas: – on the guiding surfaces; – on supporting and landing surfaces; – in sealing devices. Resulting of the analysis of the works carried out to improve the valves of the drilling pumps, it is necessary to perform field testing of the proposed valves.

The article is a continuation of the theoretical studies in the field of oil well exploitation and technology by low-productivity centrifugal pumps, which form the basis of the so-called "complicated fund". For the first time, thermobaric operating conditions of an electric centrifugal pump in wells with low reservoir properties are considered. It is proved that the operation of a centrifugal unit in a well with a low inflow leads to a heating of the pump. Increasing the temperature of the pump results in the boiling of the formation water inside the pump and the beginning of salt deposition.
Keywords: operation of the electric centrifugal pump in oil wells of low productivity; heating of the centrifugal pump during operation in wells with low reservoir properties; deposition of salts in the ESP units due to the onset of boiling.

The requirements for the form of the left branch of the theoretical and operating characteristics of submersible centrifugal pumps are provided for the supply of oil, which is lower than in the design mode. For this purpose, the possibilities of pump operation are considered when the impellers rise. As a result, it was revealed that the high slope of the characteristics of H(Q) at low feed rates is economically unprofitable. When the pump is operated for a long time under the conditions of an ascent of the impeller and a large gap between the lower sealing ring of the impeller and the coupled surface of the guide device, an auto oscillatory process can occur, resulting in rapid wear of the pump stage parts.

The urgency of the intensification of the development of hard-to-recover oil reserves (HTROR) is shown to ensure Russia's internal energy security and global energy security. The modern problems of the oil-gas-chemical industry, in particular, the depletion of oil deposits, low recovery rates, insufficient infrastructure, the lack of investments to implement the innovative methods of oil recovery enhancement and the high cost of geological exploration works are characterized. A generalization of definitions and classification approaches to HTROR was carried out for the first time. It is shown that the development of such reserves requires the introduction of innovative technologies, materials and equipment that are more expensive than the technologies applied in traditional oil production processes. It is determined that HTROR development stimulation currently lies in the establishment of a number of tax and export privileges. The insufficiency of these measures to stimulate the application of innovative technologies for HTROR development has been revealed. The directions of the technical-economic stimulation of HTROR extraction to be use in the formation of strategies and programs of development at the state level are shown.

By now, the main part of oil fields in Russia is at the latest stage of their development or belongs to hardly recoverable reserves. This forces oil companies to actively use the methods of oil production enhancement. The method of treatment of a bottom-hole formation zone by acids is widely applied in practice. But, unfortunately, from time to time, this method fails to prove its positive results, since hydrocarbon deposits structure is not uniform and there are collectors with lower permeability, which are poorly treated. The article presents the results and analysis of the experiments carried out to restore reservoir productive characteristics after the control of the injectivity profile conformance during the acid treatment, in case of the use of pre-selective insulation of high-permeable intervals by polymer solutions. Graphical dependences of the solutions mobility on the filtration time through experimental samples modeling reservoir conditions are presented.
Keywords: acid treatment; polyacrylamide; control of the injectivity profile conformance; restoration of permeability; mobility of solutions.

Depending on the heat treatment temperature, soft- and hard-burnt cementing materials are recognized. The former materials exhibit quick-setting properties, thus their use for well workover involves certain hazards associated with high emergency risks. The latter ones are characterized by slow setting rates, so hard-burnt waterless cement slurry will set only upon the contact with water in a shut-off interval. Even minor content of water causes rapid setting of slow-burnt waterless cement slurry. Hard-burnt water-based cement slurry sets quickly when liquid glass is added; otherwise, cement setting time increases to 2–5 days. However, when planning workover operations with hard-burnt cements, false setting risks should be taken into consideration. False setting is a phenomenon of an abnormal (false) premature hardening of the suspension within a few minutes after mixing of the ground hard-burnt cement slurry with water. Remixing of the slurry exhibiting the signs of the false set can restore inherent flow properties of the slurry. In the light of the above-said, it is recommended that false-set tests be conducted with hard-burnt cement samples before making any purchase. Laboratory studies and field tests have proved applicability of hard-burn cement materials for well workover applications. In some cases, they can be applied as an alternative to conventional oil-well cements.
Keywords: inorganic cementing agents; hard-burnt cement; soft-burnt cement; hydrocarbon solution; oil-well cement; false set.
