The article assesses petroleum potential prospects of Ordovician-Silurian sediments of Verkhnepechorsky depression on the basis of the analysis of hydrocarbon system elements such as source rock thickness, reservoir and fluid seal. The change of permeability and porosity of potential reservoirs along the area is studied, oil source rocks are highlighted and characteristic of their HC potential is given. Presence of the regional fluid seal rock within the depression boundaries is considered and proved. The scheme of HC systems is developed for Lower Paleozoic sediments of Verkhnepechorsky depression with account of structural-tectonic development of the territory. The most promising in terms of availability of oil- and gas-bearing areas are outlined, quantitative assessment of probability of deposits’ opening in Verkhnepechorsky depression is given and proposals for exploration activities optimization on the basis of the analysis of geological risks are prepared.

Key words: Verkhnepechorsky depression; oil and gas content; Silurian deposits; search for oil deposits; probability; hydrocarbon system.

The oil generation potential of bituminous shale strata of the East of Russia – ª1-2 Kuonamka formation of the east of the Siberian platform and siliceous strata of the Cenozoic Sakhalin and Kamchatka are analyzed. It is shown that the formation and preservation of autologous oil accumulations in these strata are determined not only by the value of generation potential, but also by reservoir properties of these strata and the presence of the seal above them.

Key words: bituminous strata; generation potential; oil formation; Kuonamka formation; siliceous strata; Pilenga suite; concentration of organic matter; katagenesis of organic matter.

The quasi-discrete character of distribution of the secondary minerals content, justified by proportional and stable processes of geochemical states is proved on the basis of the developed kinematic theory of imposed epigenesis and determination of its intensity. Regularities of geochemical state changes can be described by means of the "Golden section" on the basis of the solution of a quadratic equation in the system of orthogonal time coordinates, namely the time of transformation of matter and time of the fluid flow.

The article discusses an approach to the development of hard-to-recover reserves, assigned to reservoirs with extremely low permeability and porosity, based on use of horizontal wells subject to carrying out of a multi-stage hydraulic fracturing. The main problems encountered during the development of the field are analyzed. The analysis of the conducted pilot tests served the basis for making a conclusion about the efficiency of the method’s further application.

Key words: low-permeable reservoirs; horizontal wells; Western Siberia; multi-stage hydraulic fracturing.

Hydrocarbon deposits water-flooding negatively influences the efficiency of gas-condensate field development. The existing methods applied for monitoring of the produced water movement fix only the parameters’ change when water-flooding has already begun. The method based on using natural gas components – nitrogen and ethane – as geochemical indicator is suggested to ensure early diagnostics. The method’s principle lies in construction of dependences of the relative units of nitrogen and ethane concentrations on the time and comparison with the corresponding bottom hole pressure. The method’s efficiency is proved with the help of real examples. Early prediction of produced water approach by means of diagnostic plots will allow timely taking the appropriate measures and prevent wells’ removal from the operating fund.

Key words: diagnostics of water-flooding; geochemical indicators; nitrogen; ethane; bottom hole pressure; gas-condensate field.
