Assessment of probability of geological success (POS) – one of the key tasks in the planning of exploration works, geological evaluation, analyses of resource base and economic models of exploration prospects. Methods of estimating the probability of geological success for interdependent multilayer reservoirs are analyzed in this paper. This type of prospects occurs most often in real geological situations. Firstly, models of multilayered prospect with independent reservoirs are analyzed; it shows the main patterns of variations in the total assessment of probability of geological success, depending on the estimation the success of individual layers. We consider the case of estimating the probability of geologic success, depending on the presence of shared risks (one or more geological criteria) for reservoirs as part of exploration prospect. Next, models of estimating the probability of geologic success, depending on the results obtained by the drilling of interdependent prospects are examined in details. These models are analyzed in terms of conditional probabilities and based on the determination of individual and shared success factors of interdependent prospects. Probability assessment schemes are studied on example of two geological models of exploration plays consisting of interdependent prospects.

Key words: probability of geological success (POS); interdependent prospects; strategy of exploration works; conditional probability; HC system; geological models.

Commercial inflows of gas and condensate, numerous oil and gas shows (Kushchevskaya, Rasshevatskaya, Karmalinovskaya and other areas) prove presence of oil-and-gas content in the Paleozoic sediments of the Western Pre-Caucasus. Regarding the development of collectors, ancient residual soils developed in Upper Paleozoic and Archean granitoids are of interest. The greatest prospects for oil-and-gas content of the Pre-Mesozoic deposits are associated with coal formations within the northern and eastern parts of the Western Pre-Caucasus.

Cenomanian terrigenous sediments (productive reservoirs-collectors, PC) lie at the depth of 0,8...0,9 km, characterized by a relatively low degree of sludge diagenetic transformation and have poor cementation. As a result, core studies fixed different composition of the clay cement of reservoir rocks. The article shows what caused the sediments increased swelling when stimulating the formation.

The study of supergene-altered (biodegraded) and immature fluids is carried out on the basis of hydrocarbon (HC) and micro-element (ME) indicators. Informative and universal criteria of distinction are estimated to which the values of ratios by steranes such as 20S/(20S + 20R), bb/(bb + aa), 20S/20R, diasteranes/regular steranes as well as the ratio of HC-biomarkers: oleananes/G30, moretane/G30, gammacerane/G30 are referred. Differentiation of oils by ME content showed that the supergene-altered oils are secondary enriched by ME. Oil of this genesis create metallo-genic provinces of vanadium (V/Ni>1) type with HC deposits, commercially enriched by V, Ni, U, Mo, and other ME.

Key words: hydrocarbon systems; supergenesis; immature fluids; micro-elements.

At the present level of project development of a formation hydraulic fracturing (FHF) a lot of researches aimed at the cracks design of after FHF is carried out, but, herewith, there is no opportunity to take into account its position in space while the resulting main hydraulic fracture and the accompanying cloud of micro-cracks can reach the volume of 150000 m3. This is a significant area of increased permeability and for the success of a formation hydraulic fracturing it is necessary to understand where exactly it will be located.

This paper considers the problem of predicting of the direction of man-made cracks, which appear during a formation hydraulic fracturing: the theoretical aspects of prediction, the effect of the stress state-strain of rocks on the development of a man-made fracturing, the change of stress-strain state of rocks in the development process. The assumption is made about the possibility of predicting of the direction of a formation hydraulic fracturing on the basis of the analysis of a deposit energy state.

It is concluded that each geological block and the dome has its own system of stresses orientation, being not stationary but a dynamic one.

Key words: hydraulic fracturing; reservoir pressure; stress; geo-mechanics.
