The paper considers the problem of prospecting for oil accumulation zones in the south of the Volga-Ural oil and gas province, controlled by the Upper Devonian single basin and barrier reefs, based on the construction of paleo-geographic maps. The maps are the result of building a conceptual model of the Late Devonian sedimentation based on a comprehensive analysis of geological and geophysical data: the results of bio-stratigraphic, lithological-facies, sedimentological studies of wells core and logging, seismo-stratigraphic interpretation of 2D/3D seismic data, study of the tectonic (geodynamic) mode of the region development, changes of the sea relative level due to their influence on the conditions of sedimentation. The relationship between the Early Hercynian tectogenesis and the features of the Late Devonian sedimentation in the south of the Volga-Ural province is analyzed. For the Late Devonian, for the first time, a comparatively fractional series of paleo-geographic maps was built, on the basis of which zones of development of various types reefs were identified and characterized, and the prospects for their oil and gas potential were assessed.

Keywords: reef oil accumulation zones; geological and geophysical data; fluctuations of the sea relative level (SRL); early Hercynian tectogenesis; paleo-geographic maps.

The Devonian terrigenous oil and gas complex is one of the most unexplored exploration areas for oil and gas in the Perm Territory. Using modern software for sedimentation and basin modeling, the authors comprehensively assessed the oil and gas prospects of the Devonian terrigenous oil and gas complex, which allows restoring the entire cycle of formation and filling of traps in the complex. As a result of the work, the initial total resources were estimated, and a program was developed for the additional study of the Devonian terrigenous oil and gas complex in the central and southern parts of the Perm Territory.

Keywords: terrigenous deposits; Devonian terrigenous oil and gas complex; continental facies; hydrocarbon resources; hydrocarbon reserves; seismic exploration; assessment of oil and gas potential; PetroMod; Dionisos Flow.

The importance of the timely use of the results of lithofacial analysis and paleostructural constructions to clarify the geological model of the field using the example of production drilling in one of the fields in the south of the Western Siberia is shown in the paper. After completion of geological exploration and field’s preparation for production drilling and development, significant geological uncertainties remain. It is important at the first stages to assess geological risks, to analyze in detail the data of wells and seismic surveys in the drilled area based on the results of lithological-facial analysis as well as to carry out additional exploration of the marginal parts of the reservoir by pilot wellbores, thus allowing to quickly adjust the geological model and position of the project fund and the grid of production drilling.

Keywords: facies analysis; seismic attributes; geological model.

The paper considers an example of planning of wells drilling operations based on new approaches to identifying and mapping of the reliable fluid seals, "best" reservoirs and maximally effective reservoir thickness using geophysical and seismic survey data obtained from one of the fields in the Timan-Pechora province.

The presented methods of interpretation of wells logging and seismic survey data are a serious practical bonus that allows getting detailed geological models of productive/perspective objects for determination of the point of a high production “waterless” well location in high capacity reservoirs with maximally effective thickness.

Keywords: seismic survey; geophysical well logging; the Upper Devonian age; effective thickness; deposit; hydrocarbon reservoir; reservoir; seal; improved reservoir zone; anomaly.

The article states that the analysis of the filtration-capacity properties dependences, namely porosity and permeability, on the clay material content in them, the relative clay content and the wettability parameter conducted on the example of reservoir rocks of two deposits of the Surgut oil and gas region showed contradicting results. To increase the reliability of the results and further correct analysis of them for the considered oil fields we propose to apply the methodology for wettability determining by the capillary imbibition and centrifugal hydrocarbons displacement technique. Based on the specified methodological approach, actual examples were used to evaluate the reliability of the obtained wettability parameter values.

Keywords: heterogeneous mudded-off reservoir; porosity & permeability properties of reservoir rocks; rock wettability; relative clay content.

The paper highlights the results of a four-year (2016–2019) monitoring cycle of fresh groundwater of the Atly-Novomikhaylovsky aquifer by water intakes located within the oil fields of Tomsk Region. The conducted analysis of the hydrodynamic state of the studied waters within the considered territory allowed fixing the constancy of piezometric level both in time and in area. The analysis of the spatial temporal change in the hydrochemical composition of the studied waters revealed a tendency of water in solids content decrease and permanganate oxidation increase for most of the territory in the direction from the north-east to the south-west, which indicates a decrease in the total amount of dissolved substances in groundwater and an increase in their organic matter content. The determining factor in this case was an amount of precipitation, the increase of which in a long-term section characterizes the increase in fraction of groundwater infiltration supply with the involvement of widespread bog waters within the studied area. The revealed changes require further detailed study to determine the role of both natural and technogenic factors affecting the chemical composition of groundwater within the considered area and adjacent territories of the Western Siberia which are characterized by similar natural and geological-hydrogeological conditions.

Keywords: fresh groundwater; precipitation; infiltration recharge; resources; water withdrawal; chemical composition; type of water; dry residue; permanganate oxidation.

The paper presents the results of experimental studies of the method of regulating the reservoir properties of the well bottom formation zone (WBZ), worsened under the influence of technological processes in the well. The goal of a well bottom treatment is to restore and increase the natural permeability of the reservoir rock as well as to reduce the viscosity of the formation fluid to facilitate fluid flow. The method of periodic bar impact provides a "discharge" effect on the well bottom zone of the wells, penetrating to the given WBZ depth, ensuring the removal of muds and the restoration of initial permeability.

Keywords: well bottom zone (WBZ); bar effect; reservoir properties; formation fluids.
