Paleogeographic conditions of sedimentation in the Semilukian-Livenskian paleobasin of Volgograd Povolzhie are defined based on litho-paleontological data and paleostructural analysis and the Basic schematic range of facies zones is delineated. The main reef trends location is given and the prospects for oil-and-gas content are examined.

Some features of geological structure and type of oil and gas content of Achimovsky thickness and Neocomian deposits located in the boundaries of Bolshekhetsky depression and the zone of its joint with Srednemessoyakhsky swell, based on analysis of geological-geophysical data, are discussed in the article. Optimum volume of prospecting-evaluating drilling is planned with account of the revealed regularities.

Oil-and-gas bearing zones are characterized by filtration-capacitive properties of collectors, initial flow-rate of wells, by types of collectors and pitfalls.
Some directions, types and volumes of geological prospecting work (parametric drilling, seismic profiling, prospecting work) providing for efficient reproduction of oil stocks within an average-time perspective are pressed. Some prospects in relation to oil-and-gas content of Carbonaceous Middle Ordovician Low Devonian oil and gas complex, connected with structural forms of ancient formation and their linking spots with fault deformations are proved.

Some problems in relation with methodical provision of predicting zones with abnormally high formation pressure are discussed. It is shown that existing methods of porous pressure determination in low permeable clayish rocks, using data of well geophysical studies and drilling parameters, are based on interconnection between values of parameters, being measured, and porosity of rocks.
Theoretical substantiation of usage of normalized sinking velocity as pressure indicators based on data registered during drilling and geophysical data recorded while drilling with delay (intermediate logging) and after drilling is given.
Equation of the line of normal alteration of physical parameter of clayish rocks with depth growing is proved; this line is shown to be the line of locally extreme values of the parameter.
Application of graphs providing qualitative evaluation of porous pressure and showing links between maximum effective rock skeleton and the depth of its placement, preliminary drawn up for complete sections of areas under study or structural zones is proved.

Methodical approaches for estimation of absolute permeability in the Parfenovsky horizon of the Kovyktinskoye field, based on well log data and results of laboratory analyses are considered. The problem of permeability estimation is solved by means of construction of multidimensional dependences of the CORE-well log data. Application of the suggested method considerably increases the accuracy of the permeability estimation as compared with standard methods.

The article considers problems of raising efficiency of Senoman formation-massive gas deposits characteristic for gas fields located in the north of West Siberia by means of optimization of producing wells placement. Sedimentation-facies modeling method is suggested to be applied to achieve the purpose. Sedimentation-facies modeling method, based on log data and core-well log data, provides revealing of highly porous and highly permeable sand bodies in the section of Senoman deposits. Later, well systems are placed for these sand bodies drainage in the first turn, but with account of defining intervals in them possessing the biggest concentration of stocks.
